What We Believe

Welcome to Agape Community Church. Although our approach is not always conventional, what we believe is tried and true. Our methods may change, but these are the foundational beliefs we’ll always hold on to as a church.

About the Bible

We believe that the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God and that men were moved by the Spirit of God to write the very words of Scripture. Therefore, we believe the Bible is without error.
(Isaiah 28:13; Nehemiah 8:8; John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 4:12; 1 Peter 1:23-25; 2 Peter 1:3-4 and 2 Peter 1:21)

About God

We believe in one personal God who exists eternally in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. All equal in power , authority and glory.
(Deuteronomy 33:27; Psalms 90:2; Psalms 102:27; John 3:16; John 4:24;
1 Timothy 1:17)

About Jesus

We believe Jesus Christ to be be the virgin-born Son of God who lived a sinless life, died for the sins of every person in the world, and resurrected–ultimately defeating death.
(Isaiah 7:14; Micah 5:2; Matthew 1:23; Mark 16:19; Luke 1:34-35; John 1:1-2, John 8:58; John 11:25; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 1 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 1:8)

About the Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit who regenerates and dwells in every believer in Jesus, assures us of our salvation, guides us into all truth, glorifies Jesus and convicts of sin, righteousness and judgement. He comforts us, gives us spiritual gifts, and empowers us for service.
(Acts 1:4-5; John 14:16-17; John 16:8-11; Romans 8:26)

About Mankind

We believe that all people were created in the image of God to have fellowship with him but became alienated in that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, people are incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through their own efforts.
(Genesis 1:26-28)
